Elafonisi is a small island with white and pink sand separated from the land by a lagoon.
The emerald water and pink sand form an exotic scenery.
It is one of the most famous destinations of Crete and is located at the southern east part of Chania.
We are driving parallel to the gorge of Topolia, where we can stop to admire the view,
and through picturesque villages like Elos. Right before reaching the lagoon we will make a stop at the monastery of Panagia Chrisoskalitissa.
The Monastery is an orthodox monastery of the 17th century built on the edge of a 35m high rock staring at the Libyan sea.
Before our return to Chania we can be flexible and eat in a local restaurant nearby (optional, meal not included).
