Imbros Gorge
GENERAL INFO
The gorge of Imbros is located in the province of Sfakion and is the second largest gorge in Crete, after the gorge of Samaria. The length of the gorge is 9 km. and the journey takes about 2.5 hours. From the village of Imvros you will start hiking to the village "Komitades".
You will find traces of the old cobbled path that was once the main passage from Sfakia to Chania.
The gorge you will reach the village "Komitades",where after a short rest in a part of the area, the bus will take you to Chora Sfakion,
the capital of the remote and mountainous region. This small village is characterized by the natural beauty of a wild mountain landscape which is
uniquely combined with the sea, the crystal clear waters and the pebble beaches.
A dip in the refreshing cool waters of Chora Sfakion in the end will compensate you !!!!
DETAILED PROGRAM
08:30-09:20 a.m. Pick up
10:20 a.m. Arrival at Imbros gorge – free time for coffee and/or breakfast
10:40 a.m. Beginning of the hike
13:30 p.m. Hike ends at Komitades Village (depending on how fast you walk) & Departure for Sfakia (or else called Chora Sfakion)
14:15 p.m. Arrival at Sfakia where you can swim or enjoy a meal at the local taverns
16:15 p.m. Departure from Sfakia
17:30-18:15 p.m Arrival at your Hotel
